Ashtyne Cofer joined Alderton Hemphill & Peer in 2026 and her practice is focused on insurance defense, coverage disputes, and complex civil litigation. Ashtyne is licensed to practice law in both California and Alabama, and has extensive experience litigating complex tort, employment, construction defect, bad faith, and corporate defense matters in courts and administrative proceedings across the country. She has represented clients on both the plaintiff and defense side at all stages of litigation, before transitioning solely to insurance and corporate defense litigation in the last few years. With her dual experience and strong interpersonal skills, Ashtyne is adept at tackling the difficult legal issues and personalities that come with high-value litigation, developing preemptive strategy, and bringing matters to a successful conclusion for her clients. Prior to joining Alderton, Hemphill & Peer, Ashtyne practiced at national employment defense and subrogation firms, where she gained years of valuable litigation and trial experience.
Ashtyne graduated from Samford’s Cumberland School of Law in 2018 with honors. In 2015, she graduated from Auburn University with a dual degree in Journalism and Political Science, also with honors. She is admitted to the Northern, Southern, and Central District Courts of California and Supreme Court of Alabama.
